Declaration by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision 2010/232/CFSP of 26 April 2010 renewing restrictive measures against Burma/Myanmar.

On 26 April 2010, the Council adopted Council Decision 2010/232/CFSP. The Council Decision consisted of a renewal and updating of the Common Position as adopted on 27 April 2006 and regularly renewed since. It entered into force on the day of its adoption and will apply until 30 April 2011.

This declaration is made to announce that the following countries have declared that they share the objectives of Council Decision 2010/232/CFSP: the candidate countries Croatia* and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*, the countries of the Stabilisation and Association Process and potential candidates Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, as well as the Republic of Moldova, Armenia and Georgia.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.

* Croatia and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia continue to be part of theStabilisation and Association Process.
