Declaration by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with the Council Decision 2010/129/CFSP amending Common Position 2008/109/CFSP concerning restrictive measures imposed against Liberia
On 1 March 2010, the Council adopted Council Decision 2010/129/CFSP (published on 2 March 2010 in the Official Journal of the European Union N° L. 51 p. 23) amending the current restrictive measures on arms against Liberia in order to implement the resolution 1903 adopted by the United Nations Security Council on 17 December 2009.
This declaration is made to announce that the following countries have declared that they share the objectives of Council Decision 2010/129/CFSP: the candidate countries Turkey, Croatia* and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*, the countries of the Stabilisation and Association Process and potential candidates Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, and the EFTA countries Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, as well as Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, Armenia and Georgia.
They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.
The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
* Croatia and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia continue to be part of the Stabilisation and Association Process.
